my roomies and i have been hunting for a house for some time now and its getting on my nerves. there jusst doesnt seem to be any house which satisfies all our requirements. either it is too far from our work place or too costly. if it is both near and inexpensive then that just doesnt look like a house but seems more like a hole in the ground where even light refuses to enter.
the endless search for the right place reminds me of something else. i find that even in life i keep looking for something. unlike in the case of the house, i do not have a perfect picture of what i want though, which makes finding it (whatever that is) all the more difficult. sometimes i find 'that thing' only to realise that this is not exactly what i wanted.
let us take for example my desire to go home to my parents. it props up within a week after i return from home. i keep wishing to go home and finally when i get to do that what do i feel...nothing. yes, i am happy to meet them, happy to eat food cooked by my mom, happy to just be at home but, it doesnt seem to fulfill that emptiness that i expect it to fulfill.
i keep hunting, for that something which i know not what, which may never even exist. if alone i were saisfied with what i have, wow!!
well, sometimes i think that would bore me to death. this search keeps me going

i have heard that we search without, for what is within, and hence never find it, and live on, in the illusion that it is the search that keeps us going.
good luck - with finding a home of your liking, and everything else :)
