Conflict

The lover is ruled by the heart. The logical part of the brain lies dumb when the emotional side is in full swing telling care a damn, live for the present, this girl is making you happy now so just go spend time with her, get committed, do anything for her after all you are in love. You fall headlong. If you are lucky and the lover in you remains intact after the innumerable falls (being tripped by the one you love) then you survive. Else you die broken, disillusioned and surprised because you don’t know where you went wrong.
Then you are born again as another. Love is analysed, broken down into innumerable pieces like trust, sex, care, attraction, lust, friendship etc. You are reborn as a skeptic. I pity the skeptic. He has not experienced mindless love. The skeptic spends time doubting and dissecting the emotion so much so that the emotion loses its charm. He analyses everything but experiences nothing.
He then wonders why he should feel bad when he loses someone. No, he is sure it is not that he loved the person. Oh! Maybe he was just used to the presence of that person in his life. He moves on. When he moves on he also wonders why there seems to be emptiness within him, a space that seems to gnaw at the core of his being. He tells himself that he is complete within himself and tries to move on.
Could the person who gave the emptiness have been his soul mate? The love of his life? Could she have completed him? You must be crazy to suggest such things for the skeptic believes that no one can complete another.
What has the skeptic lost that the lover has? What does the lover lack that the skeptic has? Which is a better state of being?
