ephemeral thoughts

id:"i wish you don't go away."
wise man:"why not? if you really love me you should know i want to go away. I am not saying i don't want to stay here but i think i would be better off there. it is a part of my dream."
id:"but what about my dreams? i have dreams which involve you."
wise man:"if you feel bad that one of your dreams, which involves a third person, is not becoming a reality, how do you think i would feel when my dream does not become a reality, because of a third person?"
id: "but i like you and so want you to be here"
wise man:"just because i leave it doesn't mean i do not like you or that our friendship has ended."
id: "is it wrong to be attached to someone?"
wise man: "well according to me, yes. for nothing has come out of attachment."
id: "but i feel a sense of satisfaction when i have the people i love close to me."
wise man: "that, is the power of Maya. what we do not realise is that we are perfectly complete by ourselves and do not need someone to fill in any missing pieces within us. And new people keep filling up that illusionary emptiness."
id: "it is easy to say"
wise man: "very difficult to practise yes. but you could try. for there is definitely something better in store at the end of this."
id: "but i will lose so many other things in this process, my friends, my emotions, the special feeling."
wise man: "kuch paane ke liye kuch khona padtha hein."
id: "*sigh*. i understand...i still wish you wouldn't go."

:) Such an oft repeated dialogue this! Never taking us anyhwere really! I like this piece for the futility of it while the futility also unsettles me!
A friend once told me that we try so hard to be close to someone, to make them a part of our lives that we dont even realize we have gone really far from our own selves...hence there is a measure of truth when they say be complete in yourself! However...its flawfully human to yearn, to long and want!

Dichotomous life! Living - a balancing act.
