I recently saw a play interestingly titled ‘Battle of the sexes’. Like the title goes it highlighted and just increased the awareness of the ever present, innate differences between the male and the female sexes.

Two things that I was able to relate to, in the play:
1. How can men watch movies in such obscure languages? Immediately my mind turns to the living room in my house. A fight would invariably be ensuing between me and my dad over who gets to watch TV. I was never able to understand how someone could watch a Kannada or marati movie (us being tamilians) without sub titles also. Come on now, there is a limit to weirdness is there not? The best part is my dad understands only tamil and a little of Malayalam and no other language, yet he loves to watch those Arabic movies. How? How is that possible?
2. Women are those who willingly pour boiling wax over their legs, put a cloth over it and rip it out (ouch! Painful) but who bring the roof down if thye so much as sight a cockroach in the vicinity of their house. How? How is that possible?

But I ll side the women. A known devil is better than the unknown angel and that s exactly why we fear all those loathsome creatures like the spiders. Just imagine if it grows huge legs and starts attacking all the pretty women and their boy friends like in the movies?

I found exactly why most men dislike shopping. Its simple, men are COLOURBLIND. Its true, either they are colour blind or do not know the names of colours. So when you ask them if the red saree with the golden zari is better than the blue one with a silver zari, they just give you a blank look.

What sort of conversation can you have with a woman?
You could talk to her about her clothes, ‘her’ good looks or the ‘not-so-good-looks’ of the other women, about her feelings etc.

What sort of conversation can you have with a man?
Something about the economy, politics, which company was taken over by whom, who one in which sport blah blah blah, everything in the newspaper and nothing more than that. Oh, I almost forgot, they do talk a lot about one thing- every woman other than their wives.

But these two opposites co-exist. No wonder they say opposite poles attract. But how long they stay attracted is left to how much they can put up with the eccentricities of the other.
