You are blissfully ignorant not knowing that it exists. You are happy with what you have. There are times when you feel something is missing but you are not aware of what it is. Then comes along an awareness of the possibility of its existence. This is the point you should fear for until now you were happy. Now during the ‘feeling-low’ days there is a spark of thought saying “maybe it will make me happy”. These sparks gnaw your mind slowly consuming you completely. Eventually, the thought leaves no space for a single happy image of the present that till today you had been contented to live in. It makes the present a bore, a place that you begin finding faults with, a place that no longer gives you pleasure, a place you slowly begin to despise wishing you were elsewhere.
Then comes the day when you taste it. It may give you happiness or not but it gives you one thing for sure, a reluctance to return to the present. Yet you return and wait for the day when another ‘it’ will come along.

@Dharma: patience and thinking can help make our own interpretations of someone's writing:)
