the grasshoppers said "now that there is enough food here, we need not go back to the ants."
The leader frowned and said in a loud voice "but there was one ant in that community which tried to stand against me what about that ant?"
"oh just leave him sir, for one person lets not go all the way back there"
the leader red in the face shouted "this is not just for us to take the food, it is to keep the ants in their right place. if only they had some brains, they would beat us by their sheer number. we must not let them become aware of that. we should terrorize them and keep them in their place because we, the grasshoppers, are far superior to them."
and the grasshoppers obeyed.

there are 3 vices in life which are very difficult to overcome, as said by Adi Shankara- women (curdely put-sex), accumulation of wealth and last of all the most tough one to get rid off- the fame / power.
Power naturally seeks a leader. How the leader uses the power or gets more power is entirely in his hands. Let us take the famous Harry Potter and you-know-who (Voldermort). Both had similar powers, both could talk parsle tongue and both were great wizards but the way they used their power differed. While harry used it for the good, Voldemort on the other hand used it for destruction.
this is what is happening in our world today. the youth being led astray by leaders to kill, destroy and instill fear. have the leaders of these movements thought of how they could use their power to do good? a man who is able to convince so many people to kill others and kill themselves is obviously a great leader but his path is definitely unacceptable.
when people have the power, whether it is power to do things by their sheer number or power to just influence minds, the path they choose decides the fate of the masses that follow them. If only they knew this, the world would be a better and safer place to live in, there wouldnt be 9/11's or the 'n' number of bombings and murders.
what goes around must come around. and it will.

neatly written. i like the way u have linked the grasshopper story with the world today.
to me, it goes beyond just minds.it is about certain ideologies, and certain ways of thinking - it is that which needs to be questioned, for the leaders themselves have been influenced by it and hence are perfectly 'right' in what they are doing - if you know what i mean
